CHESNUT AVENUE, SINGAPORE

The design of this 2.5 storey house with a basement draws inspiration from the Bento Box, resulting in a sleek and minimalist aesthetic characterized by clean lines and a highly functional layout. Despite being situated on a relatively small site, the house makes optimal use of the land, providing ample space for a sizable garden. One unique feature is the placement of the swimming pool on the roof level, allowing for maximum land utilization.

At the heart of the house is a double-volume living room, strategically positioned to connect different areas of the house both visually and spatially. This central location enhances the flow and interaction between the various living spaces. Furthermore, a striking 7.0m high full-glass facade brings the beauty of the front garden, adorned with tall Garcenias, into the living area, creating a seamless integration between indoors and outdoors.

To add an artistic touch and further enhance the design, the attic is crowned with an origami roof form, which serves as an extension of the box-like structure of the house. This unique architectural element adds visual interest and creates a captivating focal point.

Overall, this house harmoniously combines functionality, aesthetics, and a strong connection to nature, resulting in a home that is both inviting and visually striking.
