SHELFORD ROAD

SINGAPORE

The house at Shelford Road is a bold exploration of intersections, finely attuned to the site’s distinct character.

Set at the end of a cul-de-sac on a triangular plot, it comprises two strikingly contrasting volumes. A dark grey form, shaped by building guidelines, connects seamlessly with the neighbouring house, while the other, more tectonic in nature, radiates towards the road and site boundary. Lush garden spaces at every level soften the sharp geometry, inviting natural light and ventilation into the home.

The first two floors, dedicated to public and semi-public areas, are linked by a hidden double-height sheltered patio—a tranquil family retreat. On the upper levels, intimate spaces spill onto terraces offering panoramic views, with movable aluminium screens adding privacy and shading from the sun.

In keeping with the owner’s profession as a respiratory physician, the attic serves as a self-sufficient, quarantine-friendly space, designed to promote well-being with its natural ventilation and essential amenities.

The house is a seamless blend of form, context, and thoughtfully crafted spaces.
